Corporate Officers

DOUG HALL-Chief Executive Officer. Doug is a third generation owner of Musselman & Hall Contractors. He began employment at M&H in 1957 at the age of 13. Doug holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas and is a registered professional engineer in both Kansas and Missouri. He is served in the United States Air Force from 1967-71 and was Chief of Operations and Maintenance for the Base Civil Engineer at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. 

MICHAEL MORRIS-Executive Vice President. Mike Morris began his employment at M&H in 1973 at the age of 15. His father Carl and uncle John were M&H superintendents since the early 1950’s. Mike began as a laborer but has served in many capacities until he acquired an ownership position in 1994. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and a registered professional engineer. His primary responsibility is the management and coordination of all M&H concrete work.

GEORGE “HOWIE” SNYDER-Executive Vice President. Howie’s tenure at M&H began in 1973 at the age of 16. A second generation employee, his father, George was M&H office manager during the 1960’s and 1970’s. He has served on the board of the International Slurry Surfacing Association and has been active in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association. He joined the ownership group in 1994, Howie has prime responsibility for the slurry seal, joint seal, crack seal and concrete pavement restoration operations at Musselman & Hall. He also supervises the hot mix and asphalt milling functions.

MARK WEESE-Chief Financial Officer. Mark received his MBA from Emporia State University in 1984. His first contact with M&H was during his early years with SKURT Computer solutions when he installed the software for the company accounting system. Mark continued to provide computer support to M&H until 1999 when he joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. He has unique skills through his training in both accounting and computer technology.

TONYA MORGERSON-Corporate Secretary. A native of Kentucky, Tonya has extensive experience in the work world. After two years of business school she entered the work world as an administrative assistant and office manager. She also worked as a customer support analyst and accounts payable clerk. Tonya joined M&H in 1994 as the receptionist and has served as payroll specialist and accounts payable clerk. As office manager, she is directly responsible for payroll and accounts payable quality control. Other duties include collections and other general administrative tasks.

OPERATIONS

MIKE BENNER-Vice President. Mike joined M&H in 1987 as a laborer. Most of his duties have been in the hot mix operation where he has estimating and operational responsibilities for hot mix and milling operations. Mike specializes in the development of five year pavement maintenance plans that will significantly increase the life of hot mix asphalt pavements.

CHUCK ROSEMEIER-Vice President. Chuck has complete responsibility for railroad maintenance and repair operations. His career began in 1980 when he went to work as a laborer for the Burlington Northern Railway in Willmar, Minnesota. After five years with the BN he joined William A Smith Contracting in Kansas City where he eventually became assistant foreman. He later joined R.D. Long Contracting where he became foreman and then worked his way up to project manager-estimator. Chuck joined M&H in 1996 as a project manager and was promoted to vice president in 2004.

DEXTER PHILLIPS-Vice President, Architectural Concrete Manager. Dexter was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He moved to Lawrence, KS in 1993 to pursue a degree in business administration at the University of Kansas. During his time at KU, Dexter began working part time at Musselman & Hall. Upon graduation in 1996, he moved to Kansas City to continue his career at M&H. Dexter continued his education and received his masters in business administration in 2000. Dexter’s role at M&H has included many things: sod farm technician, information technology manager, and concrete estimator/project manager.

SEAN MARRA-Estimator/Project Manager. A native of Kansas City, Sean joined M&H in 1992 as a laborer on the slurry seal crew. Over the years he has worked in all areas of the company including the railroad crew. He advanced from laborer to an operating engineer before moving into the office, in 2002, to manage the asphalt milling operation. In addition to asphalt milling, Sean has responsibilities as an estimator and project manager in the bituminous operation.

DAN DRAKE-Estimator/Project Manager. Dan has worked in and around the construction industry since 1985 starting with Musselman & Hall. He has extensive experience in joint and crack sealing operations including rubberized crack seal, fiberized crack seal, silicone joint seal, neoprene compression seal, and bridge expansion joints. Dan left Musselman & Hall in the late 1980s to begin a family construction business and returned in 2002 to supervise the diamond grinding operation. Currently, Dan is in charge of the joint and crack sealing operations, and oversees concrete production in the portable concrete plants. Dan is certified by the American Concrete Institute for testing, ensuring a high quality end product for our customers.

DAN KROESEN-Estimator/Project Manager. Dan first began working summers at Musselman & Hall Contractors in 1996 while attending Central Missouri State University (CMSU). He graduated from CMSU in 2001 with a BSE in English. After a brief career teaching high school English, he joined M&H full time in 2004. He began working as a laborer and was promoted to superintendent in 2005. He works closely with all concrete applications but specialize in architectural concrete.

COREY BALLENGER-Safety Officer. Corey attended Central Missouri State University (CMSU) in Warrensburg, Missouri and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety Management with a minor in Construction Management. Upon graduation in May of 2004 he joined M&H. He is active in the area’s construction safety industry and is a member of the Construction Safety Group of Kansas City (CSGKC) since the summer of 2004. The group consists of approximately 55 members from the construction industry, contractor trade associations, insurance industry, governmental agencies and suppliers.

KYLE VAN SLYKE-Estimator/Project Manager. Kyle started his tenure with M&H out of High School in 1998.  He worked as a laborer during the summer months while attending the University of Missouri.  In June of 2002 he began working full time with the concrete and decorative concrete crews serving as a form setter/foreman. He now serves as a Project Manager/Estimator for the concrete division.  He is experienced in the wide range of concrete applications, specializing in flatwork and structural.

BRIAN KROESEN-General Superintendent. Brian began his construction career in 1974 helping build duplexes in independence, Missouri with Oliver and Jerry Quick. After graduating from high school he continued working as a carpenter doing residential construction. He entered the commercial construction field with Reiz Morris Construction. He began as a laborer and joined Laborer’s local 264 in 1978. He joined the Carpenters Union in the early 1980’s. Brian joined Musselman & Hall Contractors in May of 1984 as a carpenter.  In the spring of 1985 he was promoted to job superintendent and advanced to General Superintendent in 1994.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

TINA PROULX-Payroll Administrator. Tina has worked extensively in the restaurant industry. Before joining M&H in 2003 she was active in the automobile leasing business. She performs both accounting and general office administration duties at M&H. Another primary duty is direct contact with customers, vendors and subcontractors while acting as chief payroll clerk for all M&H employees.

DAWN BREWER-Accounts payable specialist. Dawn joined M&H in 2004 after serving five years as a financial analyst at Sprint. As the primary telephone person she acts as gatekeeper between Musselman & Hall and the outside world. When she is not dealing with customer concerns and vendor issues, she is paying the bills and performing general administrative duties.

WAREHOUSE/EQUIPMENT

SCOTT YOUNG-Equipment Manager. Scott Young joined M&H in 1986 as a mechanic and truck driver. He gleaned his mechanical knowledge while working with his father-in-law in their family owned construction business. Dad taught him the value of keeping machinery in good order and of using good preventive maintenance techniques. He also gained technical training at an area vo-tech school while working in a manufacturing facility as a maintenance worker and metal fabricator. Scott was promoted to full time equipment manager in 2004.
